Kinja'd!!!

So I'm doing some research on overland vehicles (new) and I have so far:

land cruiser

4runner

tacoma

g550

g63 (for comparison)

Wrangler unlimited rubicon

GC overland ED

Grand cherokee overland 3.6

Cherokee Trailhawk

LR4 HSE

range rover

LR2

Xterra

Frontier

Am I missing any obvious (US market) choices here? I'm specifically NOT picking full size pickups so don't ask. I'm looking for vehicles that seat 5 and are geared for off road travel.

There seem to be a number of people overlanding FJ Cruisers

I was thinking about including it, but since its dead after 2014, I can't.

Can't go wrong with a new Wrangler Rubicon and one of these:

Rubicon unlimited on the list, short wheel base rubicon not included because...really you can't take 5 people in one.

Close enough. I think the camper roof only works on the 4dr anyways.

Gotta draw the line somewhere, and north of that line (FS trucks) is configuration hell.

Take your anti-bed bigotry elsewhere, SUV-ist! Raptors don't have that many options.

raptors? no, but others? hells yeah. plus as badass as they are, they aren't REALLY meant for that kind of work...nor would they fit on some of the trails.

Hummers don't fit trails either; that's why they make their own trails.

Just limit to faux-pre-runner trucks, which limits you to the Raptor.

Unimog? They have have a crew cab version IIRC.

(I know, not really practical but I wanted to nominate it anyway, because unimog)

Lexus GX and LX

You know, I should include them, the LX has variable ride height that the cruiser doesn't and the GX has a v8 which the 4runner doesn't.
